    Summary 

    The Boulder Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is a 501c6 non-profit organization and the official tourism and destination marketing organization for the City of Boulder. The CVB markets Boulder to potential leisure and business travelers as well as providing area resources and unbiased advice to tourists, events and meeting professionals, and the media.   

     

    The Visitor Services Manager will support the Visitor & Conference Services department in providing information and resources for visitors and industry partners.  They will also manage informational and logistical matters related to the visitor experience. Customer service, hospitality, and expertise are at the forefront. 


    Reports to: Director of Visitor & Conference Services 

    FLSA: Salary, Exempt  

    Salary: $41k - $46k

    Description

     

    Skills & Abilities: 

    Knowledge of Boulder – Visitor experiences knowledge preferred (dining, hiking, retail, lifestyle).  Experience and/or knowledge of the tourism and hospitality industry ideal 

    Communication – Ability to work with and build relationships with a wide variety of people in a variety of situations. Convey excitement and enthusiasm to enhance the visitor experience.  Bilingual preferred.  

    Can Do – Self-starter that enjoys problem solving and the creative process involved in developing and implementing solutions.  Ownership of tasks and the tenacity to see them through to fruition.  

    Organization & Multi-Tasking – Excellent organization and time management skills, including the demonstrated ability to meet timelines and prioritize multiple projects.   

    Team Player – Team orientation and demonstrated ability to work effectively with peers, subordinates, and supervisors. Experience working with or as seasonal staff. Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion as appropriate.  Commitment to collaboration.  


    Working Conditions: 

    • Operate normal business office equipment.   

    • Some lifting and moving of boxes containing printed materials.   

    • Occasional outdoor work environment for special events and seasonal outreach. 

    • Schedule fluctuates and may be required on occasion to work evenings or weekends for special events. 

     

    What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

    Customer Service 

    • Assist visitor inquiries in-person, via phone, email, and standard mail.  

    • Operate mobile visitor center for outreach and special events as needed. 


    Brochure Distribution 

    • Manage brochure orders & distribution. 

    • Brochure inventory management and tracking.

     

    Events Content Management 

    • Manage website events calendar.  

    • Update the Annual Calendar of Events.  

     

    Partner Services 

    • Create new website listings. 

    • Educate partners about our services and respond to requests. 

    • Website content audits for Restaurants, Attractions, Experiences and other categories.  

     

    Continuous Learning 

    • Seek out new restaurants, activities, attractions, events, and experiences (tours/operators). 

     

    Seasonal Program Management 

    • Manage implementation of seasonal visitor ambassador program.

    • This requires regular weekend work May-Sept, will shift weekday hours to accommodate.

     

    COVID-19 Considerations: 

    Our offices are Boulder County 5 Star Certified.  We follow all Boulder County Public Health guidelines.  Work location and environment is currently a mix of in-office and remote.
