Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt, average 30-40 hours per week
Pay Range: $22/hour
Expected Start Date: 2-4 weeks after accepted offer

Boulder County Farmers Markets is a non-profit organization dedicated to
strengthening our food system by supporting, promoting, and expanding access
to locally grown and made products for all members of our community. We
operate seasonal markets, and a year-round online market. Additionally, our Food
Hub team facilitates a number of year-round Food Access programs and aggregates
local food for wholesale to local businesses, institutions, and food pantries.

Position Overview
This role supports the Food Access Manager and Food Access Specialist by providing
consistent, year-round operational coverage across Food Hub operations, Food
Access programs, market coordination, outreach support, and select CSA and
data-entry tasks. The Senior Food Access Coordinator does not own programs,
budgets, grant reporting, or external partner relationships, but is trained to execute
and cover core workflows to ensure continuity during staff absences and peak
periods. This role has a strong emphasis on professional development, including
shadowing and training on focus areas outlined below.
The Senior Food Access Coordinator is a year-round, cross-functional staff member
within BCFM’s Food Access programs. This role serves as an on-site Food Access
Coordinator during assigned markets and independently executes core SNAP, WIC,
DUFB, CSA, and related incentive program workflows across both on-street and Food
Hub environments.
The position is cross-trained to provide operational coverage across Food Access,
Food Hub, and Market teams during peak periods and staff absences, ensuring
continuity of established systems and upholding high standards of accuracy,
participant experience, and food safety.
The Senior Food Access Coordinator also supports volunteer coordination and
outreach initiatives that span departments, contributing to program consistency,
participant engagement, and cross-team communication.
Food Hub Responsibilities
● Be a knowledgeable representative of BCFM’s markets and programs
● Execute and monitor high-volume produce portioning, packing, and order
fulfillment workflows for retail and Food Access programs
● Prepare and distribute weekly CSA-style bags for WIC, Older Adult, FTECE, and
related programs
● Support coordination of Food Pantry and partner deliveries, including packout
and logistics preparation
● Coordinate and support volunteers assisting with warehouse packing and
distribution activities
● Maintain inventory rotation, monitor product quality, and document shrink or
food waste
● Uphold warehouse organization, cleanliness, and food safety standards
● Provide knowledgeable, professional customer service during pickups and
distributions
On-Street Market Responsibilities
● Serve as on-site Food Access Coordinator during assigned Saturday markets
● Implement SNAP, WIC, DUFB, and other incentive program transactions
accurately and efficiently
● Support and coordinate Food Access volunteers and Ambassadors during
market shifts
● Ensure signage accuracy and compliance with established procedures
● Complete end-of-day reconciliation and documentation in accordance with
the Food Access Training Manual
● Communicate discrepancies or higher-level issues to the Food Access
Specialist
Food Access Responsibilities
● Support operational implementation of SNAP, WIC, DUFB, Older Adult, FTECE,
CSA and other Food Access programs
● Lead weekly CSA route coordination, including delivery logistics and volunteer
driver scheduling
● Coordinate day-of delivery communication and troubleshoot routine issues
using established protocols
● Assist in the implementation of pilot or new Food Access initiatives, including
workflow execution, logistics execution, and participant communication
● Maintain accurate participant records and ensure confidentiality
● Provide direct, respectful participant support
● Contribute to outreach and participant engagement efforts across
departments
Qualifications
● Knowledge of fresh produce and farmers market/food hub operations
● Interest in and appreciation for the local food system and sustainable
agriculture; farm and retail food experience are a plus
● Experience supporting volunteers or community participants in structured
environments
● Demonstrated ability to independently execute established systems with
minimal supervision
● Ability to work efficiently in high-volume environments and coordinate
multiple workflows
● Team-oriented attitude, energetic, collaborative, resourceful
● Knowledge of and adherence to food safety best practices
● Ability to coordinate multiple workflows and manage time effectively
● Comfort performing repetitive physical tasks with consistency and accuracy
● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality
control
Requirements
● Fluency in English and Spanish: Speaks effectively and conversationally in
both English & Spanish.
● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (anything over 50 pounds will be conducted as a
partner lift)
● Ability to stand on your feet for up to 8 hours
● Ability to climb a ladder as necessary
● Ability to read fine print on boxes, labels, and lists
● Ability to work outside in all weather conditions for several hours
● Ability to safely operate a cargo van and box truck
● Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range is $22/ hour. The compensation package includes a 401K plan and
match, workers compensation coverage, paid time off, an online market staff
