Job Title:Community and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
Hours of Work:40 hours per week. This person will typically work within the hours of Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00 with some flexibility as determined by the supervisor and employee. Some evening / weekend work will be required. Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this job.

Reporting to:Executive Director and Director of Volunteer Engagement
Position Summary
The Community and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator plays a central role in advancing EFAA’s mission by connecting community outreach, volunteer engagement, and executive initiatives. This position coordinates community events and ambassador programs, recruits and supports volunteers, and ensures smooth communication and logistics across engagement efforts.
The role also provides key administrative and strategic support to both the Director of Volunteer Engagement and the Executive Director, including assisting with volunteer systems, board and committee coordination, and cross-departmental initiatives. Overall, this position requires strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills to manage multiple priorities while serving as a bridge between community-facing work and internal operations.
Core Responsibilities
Community Awareness, Engagement and Outreach Coordination
•Coordinate process and engagement with community events and opportunities
•Strengthen and coordinate community engagement and ambassador program including coordinating support for events including any training and supplies for volunteer and staff ambassadors and other duties as needed.
•Recruit, train, and manage outreach ambassador volunteers
•Oversee outreach logistics, communications, and scheduling
Volunteer & Administrative Support
•Provide administrative and coordination support to the Director of Volunteer Engagement, including:
oVolunteer communications
oRecruitment, orientation and onboarding
oCoordination and scheduling
oDatabase administration
oTraining and education
oRecognition and retention
oStaff engagement with volunteers
oBoard and committee engagement support
oEvent and engagement logistics
•Support volunteer engagement initiatives, including ambassador program development
Executive & Strategic Support
•Provide administrative support to the Executive Director for strategic initiatives, including:
oCoordination of the Strategic Education Committee
oScheduling, agenda development, and materials preparation
•Assist with cross-departmental coordination related to strategic priorities
•Provide administrative and coordination support for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Key Competencies
•Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, and volunteer coordination
•Strong time management, organizational and coordination skills
•Strong relationship building and customer service skills
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across teams
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
•Ability to work with diverse populations and represent EFAA in community settings
•Comfort with both administrative tasks and community-facing work
•Experience with volunteer management software, CRM systems, or database platforms.
•Strong proficiency and experience working in MS Office; Outlook, Teams and Share Point
•Commitment to EFAA’s mission, vision and values
•Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Working Environment, Physical Activities and Equipment Used:
Typical office environment. Regularly uses computers for data input and other work. Take proper safety precautions while at work, reports unsafe circumstances and takes action to prevent accidents. Responsible for ensuring volunteers and supervised staff adhere to EFAA Safety Rules at all times.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position (100% FTE) or 40 hours per week. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $64,000. Competitive pay commensurate with education and experience.
